Cray Wanderers Squad Update: Newcomers Rio Campbell, Taner Dogan, Destiny Oladipo and Jaheim Whyte

Cray Wanderers Squad Update

A note to Cray Wanderers supporters on some recent arrivals at the club in recent weeks.

Rio is a newcomer to Cray Wanderers who signed with Bowers & Pitsea in March. Rio made an instant impact scoring on his debut off the bench against Potters Bar Town on 11 March.

Rio had a solid youth career with Barnet, Charlton Athletic and Tottenham and spent three seasons with Chelsea, where he made his Under-18 debut at the end of the 2017/18 season. The following season he moved to Watford and was part of the team that reached the FA Youth Cup Semi-Finals on 208/19. After being released, he joined Swansea City as part of their U18 and U21 squads.

Earlier this season Rio signed for Wingate & Finchley making seven league and cup appearances and moved on to Bowers & Pitsea making his Boxing Day debut and made five appearances before joining Wands.

Taner Dogan Midfield

Taner is a midfielder who signed for Cray Wanderers in March. Tamer is an American University Harvard graduate who captained their soccer team and caught the eye of League of Ireland side Dundalk and trained with them during the summer of 2020 before spending time at Athlone Town.

Taner signed with Dundalk in February 2021, but returned to the US to play with Foward Madison in August 2021. Taner became a sports advisor for FirstPoint USA earlier this year before looking to resume his soccer career with Cray. Wanderers and was an unused substitute against Potters Bar. Town on 11 March.

destiny oladipo Striker

Destiny is a striker having just joined Cray Wanderers from Hornchurch in March 2023. Destiny got off to a great start to his Wands career scoring just two minutes after coming on as a substitute against Potters Bar Town on 11 March.

Destiny, who was part of the Forest Green Rovers U18 team, went on to play for Romford, Forest Hill FC, Lowestoft Town and Hampton & Richmond Borough in February last year. This season he played for Isthmian League clubs Haringey Borough, Ramsgate and Faversham Town and in January at Hornchurch, where he also scored on his debut within a couple of minutes as a substitute against Billericay Town in the Essex Senior Cup.

Jaheim Whyte Striker

Jaheim is an 18-year-old striker who joined Cray Wanderers in early March on a double sign-up with Hampton & Richmond Borough.

Jaheim has been part of the Leyton Orient Academy and U18 team and was on the bench for the last two Wands games against Bowers & Pitsea and Potters Bar Town.

We welcome Rio, Taner, Destiny and Jaheim to Cray Wanderers and hope they enjoy their time with the club at this important time in the season.
