Hollywood actor Ryan Reynolds didn’t stay long to celebrate Wrexham FC’s big win on Easter Monday, having reportedly chartered a £100,000 private jet to get to New York.
Ryan Reynolds apparently made a quick exit from his beloved Wrexham FC on Easter Monday via private jet, despite a huge win for the club.
The 46-year-old Hollywood actor didn’t get a chance to stop for a celebratory pint when he touched down in New York just nine hours after the full-time whistle was blown.
The proud owner of the Welsh football club managed to make it back home with the wife of actress Blake Lively, where they were seen holding hands hours after the game.
Ryan reportedly shelled out £100,000 to charter his own flight from Manchester to Teterboro shortly after his team beat title rivals Notts County.
Before the crash, the actor flew to London from New York before traveling to Chester Airport by helicopter and heading to The Racecourse Ground in a chauffeur-driven car, according to MailOnline.
Ryan is said to return to the UK next weekend when Wrexham take on Barnet on Saturday.
Deadpool star and co-owner of the club, fellow actor Rob McElhenney, 45, has a nervous wait ahead of him as he looks set to clinch promotion to the Vanarama National League Football League.
“Ryan is totally dedicated to Wrexham and the club’s success this season; he wants to see them promoted,” a source told the online site.
“But he’s also a family man and given his status, flying in a private plane to also be there for Blake and his children is the only viable option.”
Taking to Instagram shortly after the full-time whistle was blown to see Wrexham win 3-2 against Notts County, Blake praised the men on the pitch, also enjoying seeing his non-alcoholic brand Betty Buzz get a mention.
Posting an image from the game to her Instagram Stories, the actress said: “MVP @benfosters against the backdrop of @bettybuzz. I’m deceased.”
He added: “@wrexham_afc you killed him today gentleman. Wow. Wow. Wow. All of you. And the whole city that sets fire to each one of you, this is for and for you. What a moment. Congratulations.”
Blake took a moment to also praise the traveling county side, adding: “And a great game @nottscountyfc. Congratulations to each and every one of your amazing supporters. That was beautiful.”
Ryan gushed about his club in an emotional post-match interview, saying he felt he had “used every beat” of his heart.
“That’s unlike anything I’ve ever seen before,” he admitted.
Calling soccer a “beautiful and torturous game”, he added that he is now “very hooked” on the game and admitted he was at a loss for words after the result.
His clubs are now three points clear of rivals Notts County at the top of the table, and the season’s achievements will be featured in another addition to Netflix’s hit show Welcome to Wrexham.
The Mirror has contacted Ryan Reynold’s representative for comment.
