‘Special’ Meadow Lane, the perfect setting for excellent Notts County meet

Notts County boss Luke Williams has been adamant there is no better venue in the division than Meadow Lane as the club is set to welcome another huge crowd for Community Day this weekend. .

The Magpies welcome Scunthorpe United to the East Midlands this Saturday, with both battling it out at opposite ends of the National League table.

Jimmy Dean’s side came into the game on the back of an impressive 4-1 win over Wealdstone last weekend, leaving them four points from safety with eight games remaining in their season.

Notts meanwhile remains hopeful of claiming the only automatic place in the division, but their title hopes were hit with a snag at The Hive Stadium a week ago, forced to settle for a point against Barnet, other promotion hopefuls.

This Saturday’s game is on pace to be another sellout after breaking the National League attendance record earlier in the season, with the club’s Community Day incentive of offering discounted tickets to fans as a great success, with the club confirming over 13,000 tickets had been sold.

And the Magpies head coach is looking forward to another special afternoon at Meadow Lane, but insists that the challenge Iron presents is entirely different from their meeting earlier in the season.

“They have everything to play for, just like we do,” Williams said.
