Birmingham youth group headed to Florida for a spring break mission trip


Spring break will be a little different for students who are part of the Sixth Avenue Baptist Church youth group. Fifty students who are part of the ‘Collision’ group head to Panama City Beach, Florida. The group’s motto is “where faith and life meet.” Over the next several days, students will focus on helping underserved communities. They will assist with community redevelopment, playground redevelopment, food distribution, shelter work, and homeless ministry. They will also do some work together with Habitat for Humanity. The church has conducted spring break mission trips for eight years, all of which have been domestic. However, the youth director says they are exploring the idea of ​​international travel.
