A driver has died after a two-car crash in Halesowen. The accident occurred at the junction of Bell Vale and Stourbridge Road just before 3pm today (February 14).

Paramedics found the driver of a car, a man, in critical condition. He was administered advanced life support but nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene near the Lutley Oak pub.

No one else was injured.

Claire Brown, spokeswoman for the West Midlands Ambulance Service, said: “We were called to a two-car RTC at the junction of Bell Vale and Stourbridge Road at 2:54pm who attended.

“On arrival, teams found the driver of a car, a male, in critical condition. The team administered advanced life support at the scene, but unfortunately nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene. No one else was injured in the collision.”


Traffic delays in the area have been reported after the accident. A post on the Inrix traffic website reads: “A458 Drews Holloway in both directions partly blocked, queue of traffic due to accident near Lutley Oak pub. Affecting traffic between Halesowen and Lye.”

“In attendance were two paramedic officers, two ambulance crews, and a trauma medic and an intensive care paramedic from MERIT.

“Upon arrival, teams found the driver of a car, a man, in critical condition.

“The team administered advanced life support at the scene, but unfortunately nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene. No one else was injured in the collision.”
