Raiders re-sign Curtis Bolton | barker

The Las Vegas Raiders continue their efforts to bring back many of their own free agents.

The team announced Saturday that it re-signed linebacker Curtis Bolton to a one-year deal. Bolton joined the Raiders in August 2022 and appeared in eight games for the Raiders, recording five total tackles. The details of the contract have not yet been disclosed.

Bolton went undrafted out of Oklahoma in 2019 and signed with the Green Bay Packers, spending time there before making other league stops with the Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, San Francisco 49ers and Detroit Lions.

Bolton made his season debut in week five against the Kansas City Chiefs after spending the first four weeks of the season on the practice squad. It was only the second time for him on an active NFL roster. He made a tackle in the Raiders loss. He also made a tackle in each of the Raiders’ games against the Colts, Los Angeles Chargers, Los Angeles Rams and New England Patriots.

Bolton is one of nine players the Raiders have re-signed and is the first from their linebacking corps to be brought back. He joins newly signed Robert Spillane as one of two linebackers the Raiders have signed during this free agency period.

The Raiders needed to add depth at linebacker and Curtis Bolton provides that, as well as a capable body on special teams. General manager Dave Ziegler has made it a priority to bring back the team’s free agents, and he continues that trend by bringing Bolton back.

The NFL Draft will take place at Union Station in Kansas City, Mo., from Thursday, April 27 through Saturday, April 29. ESPN, ABC and the NFL Network will broadcast all seven rounds.

The 2023 NFL year and free agency period begin at 4 p.m. EDT on March 15. The Raiders are expected to be major players in the free agent market this season.
