Bristol City news and transfer roundup: Alex Scott injury scare, Championship rumors

Hello and welcome to today’s live blog.

City had three players on international duty last night in Andi Weimann, Anis Mehmeti and Mark Sykes, who will now return to Bristol to prepare for Saturday’s home clash with Reading.

Alex Scott will be in action this afternoon for England Under-20s when they take on France at 3pm. The young City started their last game against the USA, with the young Lions winning 4-2.

Nigel Pearson will keep everything crossed to see his players return injury-free for the final eight games of the season. Matty James, Kal Naismith and Tommy Conway are all set to return to take on the Royals this weekend, while Tomas Kalas may be around as well.

We’ll be bringing you the latest news and rumors throughout the day, so stay tuned and keep scrolling down.

The central defender revealed that he found his situation at the Robins difficult in December when he lost his place in the squad following the World Cup break. It coincided with the moment when Nigel Pearson highlighted the lack of confidence in the central defender, favoring midfielder Andy King at the back.

Mehmeti came on in the last 20 minutes of Albania’s 1-0 defeat in Poland.
