Driver divides opinion after passing 20 cars ‘because they can’t read road signs’

  • The driver posted dash cam footage of him overtaking 20 cars on TikTok
  • Someone commented that he couldn’t read the signs, but posted a tracking clip.

This is the moment a driver passed 20 cars on a busy Bristol street after driving into a bus lane.

In the dash cam footage shared on TikTok, the driver speeds along a bus lane passing cars lined up with the audio “Here comes Sebastian Vettel” playing in the background.

While most praised it, some viewers criticized the driver, with one stating that he “can’t read the road.”

But the host, whose TikTok handle is @theamazingman, posted a follow-up video in response.

In the follow-up clip, the driver approaches a road sign that says only between 4 p.m.

In the manoeuvre, the driver accelerates along a bus lane past the cars lined up with the audio ‘Here comes Sebastian Vettel’ playing in the background.
While most praised it as the maneuver is legal, some viewers criticized the driver, with one stating that he “can’t read the road.”

The original video is captioned: ‘This is what happens when 20+ cars can’t read road signs. I complain, but he gets me home faster (laughing emoji)’.

The dash cam footage begins with the car driving as part of the queue, with F1 commentary as a backup.

Initially there are parking spaces filled with vehicles next to the queue of cars.

But these soon stop and turn into a bus lane, which none of the cars queuing seem to want to use.

As the cars ahead slow down, the driver turns left and enters the bus lane.

A sign can be seen stating that the lane is only off-limits to cars between the hours of 4:00 pm and 6:30 pm on weekdays.

However, the posted video appears to show that while it was 4:35pm, it was March 11, which was Saturday and therefore outside of bus lane hours.

The driver then accelerates past a long line of waiting cars at high speed.

The video stops before the driver reaches the traffic light.

But the host, whose TikTok handle is @theamazingman, posted a follow-up video in response.
In the follow-up clip, the driver approaches a road sign that says only between 4 p.m.

While some people were outraged by the driver’s move, most felt differently.

One TikTok user even said that their driving instructor told them they would fail their test if they didn’t do it in the bus lane when he says they can.

Another wrote: ‘Haha I do it all the time, people don’t realize it’s just part time bus lanes. I’ve had some arguments because people can’t read.

While another said his father had someone pull up in front of him at the end of the bus lane, get out of the car and criticize him for driving in it.

“My dad is a driving instructor (laughing emoji),” he added.
