Decrease in traffic, previous accident on A3029 Winterstoke Road southbound from The Storage Building to South Bristol Retail Park.

Major traffic delays and queues due to a previous accident on the A3029 Winterstoke Road southbound from The Storage Building to South Bristol Retail Park. Congestion half way up Clifton Suspension Bridge and Ashton Court Golf Course. All lanes have been reopened.

A witness at the scene of the collision reported that Winterstoke Road is now being cleared. They said: “The police literally just as I arrived moved both parties to the Halfords side in the retail park, to continue taking details.”

“There were 3 police cars here, 2 have now left and the road is now fully reopened. The long traffic jams in both directions are now easing.”

They added that no ambulances appeared to be on the scene when they arrived.

Travel West has reported that only southbound traffic is affected by the road closure on Winterstoke Road; northbound traffic is still allowed to pass.
