Meite, Rahman and Long – Reading FC latest injury updates and early team news ahead of Bristol City

He returns to Championship action for Reading FC this weekend following the international break.

Paul Ince’s side make the short journey west to take on Bristol City at Ashton Gate on Saturday afternoon in the first of eight remaining games this season.

The Royals’ status in the second tier remains uncertain with a nine-point gap separating them from the bottom three, while there is a constant threat of a possible English Football League (EFL) points deduction.

City are just three points ahead of Reading in the league table and look destined to finish in the middle of the table this year.

The attacker has been out for almost a month due to an unspecified injury. He last played for Middlesbrough during a 5-0 defeat in early March, but is expected to return in the near future.

Speaking this week on the club’s website, he said: “Hopefully I’ll be fit for this weekend, so it’s a good opportunity to regroup and work on things for the next few games.”
