Former Manchester United star Paul Parker has warned Jadon Sancho that his return to form and the first team “could go away very quickly”.

Two weeks ago, Sancho returned to action after not playing since October due to issues on and off the pitch, but the time off seems to have worked out with the rejuvenated winger.

He came off the bench in last Wednesday’s clash against Leeds to score a superb equalizer in a 2-2 draw and was rewarded with a place in the starting XI for victory at Elland Road last Sunday.

Although he was unable to repeat his feats, he performed at a good level and, with Antony injured, he could well start against Barcelona in the Europa League on Thursday.

Parker has been impressed with the 22-year-old’s return but fears things could quickly go backwards, although he believes if the England international has fun with his game he will retain a place in the team.

“I actually think Jadon Sancho was moving the ball faster against Leeds than before he was out of the team,” the former right-back told MyBettingSites.

We know he’s not lightning fast, so we shouldn’t expect that from him. But I think Man United improved with him in their team.

“Erik ten Hag knows that not everything is going to be rosy for him, but I think he has patience with him. Now, it’s up to Jadon Sancho to perform well and earn the right to play.

“As fast as he’s experiencing some kind of success right now, it could all go away very quickly, so he has to enjoy his time right now.” That way she’ll also take some of the pressure off her shoulders.’

Before moving to Old Trafford, Sancho was considered one of the best young players in the world, racking up 50 goals and 64 assists in 137 appearances for Borussia Dortmund.

United were linked with him for a long time and he finally made the transfer in 2021 in a deal worth around £75m.

Unfortunately, his time back in England has been a disaster so far, with just nine goals and four assists in 55 games for the Red Devils, but given that Ten Hag has been able to improve on the likes of Marcus Rashford, the future is still bright for Sancho.
