Manchester United reportedly have “genuine interest” in Roma striker Tammy Abraham as the Reds look to sign a new striker in the summer transfer window.
According to journalist Ben Jacobs writing for CaughtOffside, United are interested in signing the 25-year-old leader, who has recorded 34 goals and 10 assists in 82 appearances for the Serie A outfit. While Abraham has only found bottom netting seven times this term, he played a major role in Roma’s victory in the inaugural Europa Conference League last season.
United are expected to add attacking reinforcements at the end of the campaign following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo in November. The Reds have signed Wout Weghorst on loan until the summer, but the Dutchman has struggled since he arrived at Old Trafford in January.

“For Manchester United, the admiration for Abraham is very genuine,” Jacobs said. “Ten Hag likes the player. But like Chelsea, there are others before him in line. We know Manchester United love Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, as indeed Chelsea do. Manchester United will not consider to Abraham as a ‘backup’ for Osimhen, but that’s not a bad way of putting it.”
Elsewhere, a Football Insider report claims that United are in the “chase” to sign Real Valladolid right-back Ivan Fresneda, with Erik ten Hag eager to add another full-back to his team. He claims the Reds are interested in the 18-year-old defender after previously being linked to him in January.
The youngster has been the protagonist this season in LaLiga, starring 12 times after breaking into the first team at the José Zorrilla Stadium. He has a contract until 2027, but the young Spaniard is attracting interest from several clubs after impressing with José Rojo Martín’s side.
Diogo Dalot enjoyed a good first half of the season, while Aaron Wan-Bissaka performed well in the absence of the Portugal international when he was sidelined with injury.
