Manchester United ‘plan double whammy with Chelsea’ and other transfer rumors

Manchester United are planning moves for Chelsea duo Mason Mount and Christian Pulisic over the summer window, according to reports.

Having signed nine players during his first season in charge, Erik ten Hag wants another midfielder and a prolific striker when the market reopens. However, there could be more recruits depending on who leaves Old Trafford before the 2023/2024 campaign.

MAN Sport understands that United have made Harry Kane their main target in the search for a new striker, while Victor Osimhen is also being monitored. United, meanwhile, have long had Frenkie de Jong, Jude Bellingham and Declan Rice on their radar.

However, if the Old Trafford giants miss out on those three, Givemesport reports indicate they will recall Mount amid growing speculation about his future at Chelsea. Mount, 24, only has 15 months to fulfill his contract at Stamford Bridge.

He has previously been tentatively linked with United and Liverpool, while Pulisic is by no means a new name on the proposed shopping list. The same article states that Ten Hag is considering him as a possible attack room alternative depending on what happens with spending this summer.

Pulisic, 24, will also be out of contract next summer if Chelsea fail to get him to extend his stay. He has only started nine games for the Blues in all competitions this season.

Elsewhere, Foot Mercato reports suggest United are pushing to sign Monaco defender Axel Disasi amid interest from Arsenal and Tottenham, as well as other European clubs. The defender’s representatives are said to have met United a fortnight ago to discuss a £44m trade.
