Manchester United remain interested in signing Goncalo Ramos with the Benfica star growing impatient with the club for not offering him an improved contract.

Ramos is one of a number of options being considered at Old Trafford with the club making the signing of a new striker a top priority this summer.

Ramos, 21, has already scored 23 goals this season, and has also contributed 10 assists that have slipped onto United’s radar after their stunning hat-trick against Switzerland in the World Cup.

However, according to Record, the forward has been “very disappointed” with the fact that Benfica has not rewarded this good moment with a new contract.

Last summer, the club’s president, Rui Costa, reportedly promised the player a salary increase that has not yet materialized.

Benfica raised £85m from Liverpool after cashing in on Darwin Nunez last summer and Chelsea paid a Premier League record fee of £106m to sign Enzo Fernandez in January.

Ramos is believed to have a release clause similar to Fernandez’s, which could leave United needing to pay big if they move for the Portugal international.

United have already been told they will have to pay £100m to sign Harry Kane this summer.

The England captain is in the final year of his contract, but Tottenham have not given up hope that he will sign a new contract and believe the high valuation will deter United from making a move.

Napoli’s Victor Osimhen is also a target, but recent reports in Italy say the Serie A leaders will not listen to offers below €150m.

United are also considering signing Atalanta striker Rasmus Højlund after being impressed with his rapid development this season.

The 20-year-old joined the Serie A club from Sturm Graz last summer for a fee of around £15m and has repaid the trust placed in him by scoring eight goals in 23 games this season.

Danish publication Ekstra Bladet says United are monitoring the striker with a view to making an offer for him this summer.
