Manchester United told what they have to do in the absence of Casemiro

Former Manchester United player Louis Saha has urged Erik ten Hag’s side to step up in Casemiro’s absence, while the Brazilian midfielder is out through suspension.

Casemiro was sent off in United’s last Premier League match against Southampton, and the 31-year-old flashed his marching orders for a challenge on Carlos Alcaraz. Erik ten Hag’s side was reduced to 10 men in the 34th minute of their clash, and they couldn’t find a way to get past the Saints as the game ended goalless.

The former Real Madrid player was handed a four-match suspension after being sent off once this season, against Crystal Palace in February. Marcel Sabitzer started and scored in the FA Cup win over Fulham on Sunday, and former Reds man Saha insists the team’s players must now prove his worth.

“Casemiro’s absence will be a difficult challenge for Manchester United, but United have a strong team,” he told OLGB. “Even against Fulham we saw Sabitzer playing well, Fred and McTominay are playing better and Manchester United are improving in different elements.

“It shows that they understand the impact of Casemiro and realize that they also have to do the same things: be calm, collected and confident at the right moments. Casemiro has helped the group well on and off the pitch, especially those who didn’t are”. playing regularly as they can continue to learn from him and please Erik Ten Hag when they get the chance. It’s a good opportunity for the rest of the team to show their skills as well, although it’s always better to have the player who is in shape.

“I feel like he was unlucky to get sent off (against Southampton). It’s not because he’s too aggressive, he has to be! At times, you’ll have some things that don’t go your way. It’s not him personally, I think it’s just his position Manchester United have a strong team behind them and it’s time for them to show it.”

Casemiro has already served one game of his suspension, the FA Cup win over Fulham on Sunday, but he will also be absent for top-flight games against Newcastle, Brentford and Everton. The Brazilian will return for the clash with Nottingham Forest on April 15. Ten Hag’s side have lost just three times when Casemiro has started so far this season, and the midfielder has made 38 caps for United.
