The mother of a 19-year-old girl doused with bleach in a “senseless attack” says her daughter is putting on a “brave face”. The woman, who asked not to be named, described the horrific incident to Manchester evening news.

Emergency services responded to the scene of the incident on Wortley Avenue around 7pm on Tuesday (February 12) and discovered that the teenager had attacked. A substance was thrown at him, later confirmed to be bleach, police said. She suffered minor injuries.

Three teens, two 19-year-olds and one 17-year-old, were arrested on suspicion of assault. They have since been released on bail, as understood by the MEN.

The victim’s mother said: “She’s trying to show a bit of a brave face towards her friends and things like that. I’ve been very vigilant and paranoid, if she goes out I make sure I go out with her.” hers.

“It has affected her massively.”

The woman claimed that her daughter had to be treated for a head injury after her attackers tried to make her swallow bleach. “Luckily, she didn’t swallow any of the bleach they were trying to force into her mouth,” she added.

“She got stuck to her head in the hospital.”

A cordon was placed in the area while forensic officers conducted investigations Tuesday. A witness said: “It’s disgusting. I’ve seen something around here, but that’s the best, that’s it. It was three girls who did it.”

“A little girl was attacked. I heard the screams, but at first I just thought they were playing. But then I realized that bleach had been thrown at her.”

Another resident described the incident as “absolutely shocking.” On Wednesday (Feb 22), Chief Inspector Darren Whitehead of GMP’s Salford District said: “Fortunately, this incident has not led to more serious consequences, but wanton attacks of this nature have the potential to cause life-changing injuries. life”.

“Officers responded quickly to this incident and subsequently arrested three women. Investigations are ongoing.”
