From Photowalks to post-punk tunes, here’s what’s happening this week in Notts

Mary Cassat: painting the modern woman

Mary Cassat made waves in art by portraying modern women. She showed women as true intellectual human beings, which changed the way women appeared in art. This on-screen exhibition will be told by Cassatt’s most eminent curators and scholars to showcase an exciting story of great social and cultural change.

X Superstar, In Isolation, Gothzilla and Feather Trade

Are you looking for the next great Post Punk and Gothic Rock concert? Then look no further. Friday the 17th March the Ye Olde Salutation Inn will hold a night dedicated to all Punk and Goth music. You can expect to see X-Superstar (Andy Cousin’s latest band), In Isolation, Gothzilla and Feather Trade.

Blend Coffee Shop celebrates the fictional writing, artwork and graphic design created by 20 students from Nottingham Trent University. Answer is an annual student placement at Nottingham Trent University, allowing students from the schools of Art and Design, Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities and Confetti to come together to create a project. While you are at this event, you will receive a free copy of Answer 6 while relaxing with live readings from the team.

Analog Wonderland X Lensefayre

Fancy taking a photo walk around Nottingham? Well, you’re in luck. Analogue World in collaboration with LensFayre has created just that, available to everyone on March 18. Launched in the spring of 2020, LensFayre is a retro camera store that aims to reconnect us with all the things that made us fall in love with the analogue photography process.
