Nottingham Forest gave Leeds United a ‘bonus’ after injury update

Former Nottingham Forest manager Ian McParland has said Forest faces a “huge week” in their season as the Reds battle to avoid relegation.

Steve Cooper’s team is just two points clear of the last three with 11 games to play. The Reds are on a six-game winless run since beating Leeds United 1-0 at home in February.

Forest faces a potentially season-defining spell over the next week when they take on Wolves at the City Ground on Saturday. The Reds then travel to Leeds in another relegation six-point shot at Elland Road on Tuesday night.

And McParland, who has held various managerial roles within the club, has stressed the importance of Forest’s upcoming games. “It could be massive this week, absolutely massive,” he told Notts TV’s Team Talk.

“Wolves are in the mix, fighting for their lives. It’s a home game and, as we all know, the record away from Nottingham Forest is dire. In fact, if there was one word to explain it worse than dire, you’d say, for what you don’t expect them to win away from home, so they need to win at home.

“If they win on Saturday it will help them a lot to stay awake. Then they will face Leeds United away from home. Leeds have a lot of energy but they have lost, I think their main player is Tyler Adams so that’s an advantage.” for Forest.
