Revamp that Premier League table!

On Friday night, Newcastle United deservedly won, BUT they needed a 93rd minute penalty to get all three points, despite having dominated against Forest.

As it is, sometimes everything goes against you, BUT the important thing is that the team keeps coming to the bitter (and sometimes beautiful!) end.

This was demonstrated with Alexander Isak’s brilliant late penalty.

Moving on to the beginnings of Saturday at 3 pm

Two games involving the top end of things, the race for the top four of the Premier League.

Brentford took a first half lead through Jensen and moved within three points of Newcastle, only for Harvey Barnes to equalize in the second half.

Which means Brentford remains five points behind Newcastle and NUFC with one game less.

Even better though…

At St Mary’s, Porro gave Tottenham a 1–0 lead just before half time, Adams equalizing for Southampton just after half time.

Kane and Perisic put the Spurs into a commanding lead.

Walcott brought it back to 3-2 in the 77th minute.

A penalty in the 93rd minute (!!!), Ward-Prowse takes a step forward… 3-3 and Tottenham has wasted a 1-0 and 3-1 lead!

As you can see, Newcastle United are now just two points behind Tottenham and NUFC are two games down. Newcastle maintains a difference of five points with those below.

These are the Premier League games that will now be played in these next 15 days that affect the race for the top four, I have left out Man City and Arsenal, concentrating on the clubs placed 3rd (Man U) to 10th (Chelsea) :

So… if Newcastle United win against Man U on Sunday 2 April, we are guaranteed third place in the Premier League.
