Warning issued to Tesco shoppers using Clubcard as £16m vouchers about to expire

A warning has been issued to Tesco shoppers with a Clubcard. It comes as £16 million worth of Clubcard vouchers that must be used before they expire this month.

Financial guru Martin Lewis posted the update in his Money Saving Expert newsletter. Tesco Clubcard vouchers are issued to be used within two years.

It now means that coupons issued in February 2021 will expire at the end of this month. Customers can use the coupons both in-store and online to save money on their weekly grocery bill, the Mirror reports.

They can also be used to reduce the cost of fueling the car or can be exchanged for rewards that are worth more. Tesco Clubcard vouchers can only be valid for two years, but Money Saving Expert has shared a “crafty” way shoppers can extend them even further.

To do this, the Money Saving Expert website said you need to “make a small purchase” on Tesco’s Clubcard rewards page online. The website founded by Martin Lewis said this cannot be done in the store or on other Tesco pages.

For example, with your Clubcard points, you can get a £1.50 voucher to spend at a restaurant chain like Zizzi, Cafe Rouge or Bella Italia by spending 50p in Clubcard points.
