Middlesbrough could be without one of their best attacking players when they visit Sheffield United tomorrow night. Aston Villa loan Cameron Archer is an injury doubt for the Bramall Lane clash.
The forward sprained his ankle in Saturday’s 3-1 win at Cardiff City. Recruited in the January transfer window, Archer opened his scoring account for Boro over the weekend as Michael Carrick’s side maintained his impressive form.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference today, Boro boss Carrick said: “We are similar (with injuries). The only thing is that Cam (Archer) took a very hard blow to the ankle. He twisted it in the first half and bloated up quite a bit after the game.

“We’ll have to see how he’s doing, but he was struggling towards the end of the game, so we had to take him out. Fingers crossed he’s okay, but right now, we’re not sure.”
Aaron Ramsey, another January recruit, could enter Carrick’s thoughts for the televised clash. He started training with the main group last week and was part of the traveling squad for the trip to South Wales.
Carrick told our sister title Teesside Live: “Aaron (Ramsey) is a bit closer after training for a few days with us now. We’re taking it step by step to see when the time is right to involve him. He toured with us last weekend. weekdays, but more so that he feels part of the group”.
