Leigh’s in-form winger Josh Charnley pulled off a hat-trick to help the Leopards claim their third win of the season with a 24-16 win at Hull on Saturday.

Cornwall makes history

Yesterday was a historic day for Cornwall, who won their first home game since joining League 1, defeating London Skolars 35-10.

It was the perfect way for the Choughs to start their campaign at home and it all built on a terrific first half performance that saw them open up a 25-0 lead.

Having started their season with a heavy defeat at the Midlands Hurricanes, before losing to the fans Rochdale Mayfield in the Challenge Cup, it was a morale-boosting and historic win.

Their only previous victory came last June, when they beat the West Wales Raiders 24-4 away.

Hall on his decision to play

Six-time Super League winner Ryan Hall will play until 2024 after signing a new one-year deal at Hull KR.

Hall, 35, is in his third season at Craven Park and has scored 33 tries in 51 appearances.

He told the club’s official website: “It’s great to break this news and confirm what I will do next year. I still feel fine.

“You don’t see a lot of 35-year-old wingers hanging around, but my body feels good and I still feel like I can produce on the pitch.

“I really enjoyed the progression here at Hull KR. I think we’ve made great strides that have helped us become a better team overall. I’ve enjoyed being a part of that and hopefully we can continue on the same trajectory as a club and really achieve something.”

Rob Massam has become the 19th Welsh international to score 200 tries. Massam scored his 200th try while playing for the North Wales Crusaders against Oldham at Colwyn Bay on Sunday afternoon.
