New Sheffield city center hotel and Miller and Carter almost ready to open

A new steakhouse and hotel in Sheffield city center is about to open with signs posted and a stylish interior revealed.

The Miller & Carter at 55 Surrey Street has been coming together for the last few months and now the windows have been cleared and the reservation system will go live today. The interior seems to be everything you’d expect from a place without a sportswear policy.

The hotel opening date is expected to be April 18th and the company is now accepting reservations online, the steakhouse opens April 14th. The building had been empty since Halifax left in 2019, the 1893 façade being all remnants of the original building after it was rebuilt from scratch in 1977.

“Miller & Carter Steakhouse serves the finest 30-day aged steak, using wet and dry aging techniques to provide optimal succulence and flavor. There are 12 fantastic cuts of steak to choose from, including a 30 oz Longbone Tomahawk, Filet and our award-winning sirloin steak. Each one is individually hand-sliced ​​by our butchers before our specially-trained chefs grill them to perfection.”

Prices for hotel rooms at the new location range from £80 per night to £188 per night, depending on the dates selected. Menu prices have yet to be revealed, but you can expect steak entrees to range from £19 to £40, depending on the cut.
